What is your favorite destination?
Peru.
What was your most memorable travel experience?
Watching a herd of giraffes walk across the horizon as the sun set in the distance over the South African plains.
What cities could you revisit over and over again?
Paris. I could spend a weekend in each arrondissement just eating and exploring.
New York City. I love the energy and vibe the city has to offer.
What’s on your travel “wish list”?
Chile and Argentina. From the cities to the vineyards to the penguins in Patagonia.
If I had an unlimited budget, I’d…
Go to Astronaut training school at the NASTAR Center and travel into space on the Virgin Atlantic.
What was your most memorable meal while traveling?
Stopping for dinner at a small restaurant in the town of Albuferia, on
Southern Portugal's Algarve coast. I ordered the Cataplana, a local
seafood and vegetable stew, cooked and served in a copper “clamshell”
pot. Even though I was charged for extra bread and butter, I had to
soak up and consume all of the delicious sauce.
Any “words of wisdom” you’ve learned along the way?
Always read and reconfirm your itinerary, especially the spelling of
your names and double check the dates on your actual tickets. Traveling
to Paris from Lyon on a morning commuter train (with family and bags in
tow), and finding out you don’t have a seat because your tickets were
for the previous day is not a good way to start the morning.
