South Africa.
What was your most memorable travel experience?
Traveling to South Africa with my children and grandchildren. There are
so many moments I will treasure, like watching each grandchild on Safari
experience the extraordinary wonder of nature and celebrating New
Year's Eve by watching the sunset near Table Mountain in Cape Town.
What is the most interesting/exotic locale you’ve visited?
Easter Island. It is so beautiful and so remote. The stories about the
huge Moai statues that dot the landscape were fascinating!
What’s on your travel “wish list”?
Borneo and Papua New Guinea.
What was the most memorable event that happened to you while traveling?
While on the Skeleton Coast in Namibia, we were having lunch when a herd of white elephants decided to join us!
What culture/experience surprised you?
Abu Dhabi and the countries of the Persian Gulf.

Rent a villa on North Island (Seychelles) with my family.
When traveling, what can’t you leave home without?
An excellent book, movies on the iPad, eye drops, trail mix, an apple and an adapter cable.
What was your best purchase while traveling?
My collection of unusual boxes and teapots from around the world and a large wooden giraffe sculpture from Kenya.
What was your most memorable meal while traveling?
While in Provence with my family, we had a beautiful candlelit dinner
outside on the patio of the cháteau we rented for a week. The house
chef cooked a delicious meal consisting of grilled fish, ratatouille,
mussels, flaky French bread and local Rosé wine. Just being with my
family in such a spectacular setting was truly special.
Any “words of wisdom” you’ve learned along the way?
Plan ahead to get the most out of your time. On long haul trips, drink lots of water and walk around often.
What travel tips do you like to share with your clients?
Bring a great pair of walking shoes!
