About Me:
Growing up the daughter of a travel agent, studying architecture and art
history, and working for a prestigious architecture firm for over 12
years, I’ve had many opportunities to travel the world. I bring my love
of design and travel together to work on all aspects of marketing for
Gateway Travel, from social media to print work to organizing our travel
show.
What is your favorite destination?
Italy. With so many places to explore from the big cities to the
countryside, I’ve always had a unique experience each time I’ve visited.
What was your most memorable travel experience?
I guess animals are memorable for me! Being on safari with my kids in
South Africa, riding on an elephant with my twin sister in Thailand, and
bathing an elephant in Chitwan National Park, Nepal!
What is the most interesting/exotic locale you’ve visited?
India. Standing in front of the Taj Mahal was breathtaking. An experience I will never forget.
What city could you revisit over and over again?
Paris. Each arrondissement has something different to offer. With the
fabulous food, wine, architecture, shopping and museums, you really
can’t go wrong in Paris! I especially love walking around at night.
What’s on your travel "wish list"?
Scandinavia, Australia, Turkey, Tahiti.
What was your most memorable purchase while traveling?
A two-sided blackware drinking vase from a local Mapuche artisan near
Villarrica, Chile. We drank “mate” while he shared stories and showed me
his pottery.
What was your most memorable meal while traveling?
Two meals always come to mind- While in Bangkok, our guide brought us to
a local “restaurant” (ie- stove on a street corner!) where I had the
best ever Pad Thai! While honeymooning in Southern Portugal, we had a
simple meal of grilled sardines and boiled potatoes overlooking the
gorgeous blue ocean.
