What is your favorite destination?
Italy. I always love the cities of Florence and Rome, but the lake
region and Northern Italy are especially beautiful. A scenic boat ride
on Lake Como, visiting Bellagio and the cute town of Verona were
highlights.
What was your most memorable travel experience?
Ten days in Israel with my family.
What is the most interesting/exotic locale you’ve visited?
Galápagos Islands.
What’s on your travel “wish list”?
Thailand, Prague and Africa.
What was the most memorable event that happened to you while traveling?
When in the Galápagos Islands, we were on a small raft boat getting a
closer look at the wildlife when a playful sea lion jumped right into
our boat. Everyone was screaming; it was certainly memorable!
What culture/experience surprised you?
Japan. I definitely wasn’t prepared for the language, the signage and the crowded streets!
When traveling, what can’t you leave home without?
A great book, snacks and my camera.
What is the strangest thing you’ve ever packed for a trip?
Airplane seat covers.
What was your most memorable purchase while traveling?
In Tuscany, we stopped in the medieval town of Radda in Chianti and
found a little pottery shop where we were able to design our own dishes.
I love eating on them everyday as it reminds me of our time there.
What was your most memorable meal while traveling?
While in Israel, our guide invited us to his home for a traditional
Israeli Shabbat dinner. It was delicious! We met his wonderful family
and seemed to all get along despite the language barrier. A very
memorable evening!
